Tradition at the Heart of Barolo
Bartolo Mascarello is one of the most iconic traditional estates of Barolo. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Giulio Mascarello and later shaped by Bartolo Mascarello, who became one of the most respected defenders of traditional Barolo. Today the estate isled by his daughter Maria Teresa Mascarello, who continues the philosophy that has defined the house for generations.
The vineyards are located in some of the most historic crus of Barolo, including Cannubi, San Lorenzo, Rué and Rocche del l’Annunziata. These sites are planted on classic Lang he soils composed of marl and lime stone, which provide both structure and aromatic complexity to Nebbiolo. Rather than producing separate cru bottlings, the estate blends fruit from these vineyards, following the historic tradition of Barolo where different sites are combined to achieve balance and harmony.
