Domaine Jean-Féry is a family estate based in Échevronne, in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. Founded in 1972, the domaine has gradually built a reputation as one of the most exciting producers from this often overlooked part of Burgundy. Today, the estate is led by Frédéric Fery, who has expanded both the vineyard holdings and the ambition of the domaine.
The vineyards are located at higher altitudes than those of the Côte de Beaune, where cooler temperatures and increased exposure create a longer growing season. The soils are composed of limestone and clay, similar to the great sites further downslope, but with a fresher and more lifted profile. This environment allows the wines to develop purity and tension while maintaining moderate alcohol levels
Domaine Jean-Féry produces both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a style that emphasizes freshness and drinkability without sacrificing structure. In addition to holdings in the Hautes-Côtes, the domaine also works parcels in more prestigious appellations, bringing additional depth to the range.
Fermentation is carried out with a focus on preserving the natural character of the fruit. The wines are aged in French oak barrels, where they develop texture and complexity while maintaining balance. The use of oak is carefully managed so that it supports rather than dominates the wine.
The wines are defined by their energy and clarity. Pinot Noir shows bright red fruit, subtle spice and fine tannins, while Chardonnay expresses citrus, white fruit and a clean mineral backbone.
