Vérité

A Vision of Bordeaux in Sonoma

Vérité was founded in 1998 by JessJackson with the ambition of creating wines in Sonoma County that couldrival the great wines of Bordeaux. To realise this vision, he partnered withrenowned Bordeaux winemaker Pierre Seillan, whose deep understanding ofterroir and blending became the foundation of the project.

The vineyards are spread across several ofSonoma County’s most respected areas, including Alexander Valley, BennettValley, Knights Valley and Chalk Hill. Each site offers different soils, elevations and exposures. Pierre Seillan applies a philosophy he calls“micro-cru viticulture,” where individual vineyard blocks are treatedseparately to capture the unique character of each parcel. This meticulousapproach allows the wines to achieve both power and precision.

Mastery Through Blending

Vérité produces three principal wines, each inspired by a classical Bordeaux model: La Muse, La Joie and Le Désir. Theblends are built primarily around Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and CabernetFranc, with smaller contributions from other Bordeaux varieties depending onthe vintage.

Fermentation takes place in small lots topreserve the identity of each vineyard parcel. The wines are then aged inFrench oak barrels, where they slowly develop structure and complexity beforethe final blends are assembled.

The resulting wines are layered and highlystructured, showing blackcurrant, plum and dark cherry alongside notes ofgraphite, cedar and spice. Fine tannins and vibrant acidity provide bothbalance and remarkable ageing potential. Vérité has earned worldwide acclaim, including multiple perfect scores from critics, placing it among the mostcelebrated Bordeaux-style wines of California.
